Parish Census

Let’s Work Better Together…

Jesus said to his disciples, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirt, teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."    MATTHEW 28: 18-20

One of the ways we help make disciples is through relationships and walking with one another. Western Washington Parishes and the Archdiocese determined a couple of years ago that one key enabler of relationship is technology if used appropriately.  Just about everyone uses technology with the proliferation of SMART Phones.  It was also recognized that individuals use technology differently, email, texts, phone calls just to mention a few.  Additionally, the current database most parishes use, was at the end of life, so we needed to move to something and rather just another database it was determined a “Cloud-based” solution was in order.  Thanks to some of our pioneering parishes and the archdiocese over a year ago a steering committee was pulled together to define parishioner relationship technology requirements, vendor selection and now the implementation details. One of the critical drivers was parishioner engagement and enabling parishioners to manage their own personal data.

Long story short, we chose WeGather for our replacement solution. This solution is a Catholic-based solution build on the industry renowned

So, what’s in it for me, you may be asking…

This solution creates opportunities for families and members participate in both parish and Archdiocesan programs and ministries right from your phone.  You will determine how you like to receive communication (text? Email? Or even postal mail). As head of house you will be able to modify the information on each member of your household – like uploading a baptismal certificate for confirmation.  If you’re a ministry lead, you will participate in your Ministry Group where all communication will happen, including calendar of events, ticket sales, etc.   Then January 31st rolls around and you can’t find that tax letter you know you received – no problem, you will go to your family profile and simply download your Tax Statement.  While you’re at it, you’ll check to make sure that your Stewardship aligns with what you’ve contributed.  Oh, and how about getting some tickets from the parish next door who has the awesome Mission speaker coming – no problem, just associate yourself with that parish and all that is open in that parish, you have access to! This and so much more!  Sacramental records, direct mail to any staff member without having to go to your personal email, faith formation registrations…. a one stop place for everything you want at your parish and what you want from other parishes and the archdiocese.

Holy Family has been selected as one of two pilot groups. The archdiocese and vendor team will launch the pilot locations –Holy Family (Kirkland) and a group of parishes in SW Washington –St. Rose Church & School (Longview), St. Catherine Mission (Cathlamet), Immaculate Heart of Mary (Kelso), and St. Mary (Castle Rock) beginning in January2022.  The pilot migration and implementation process will take about 8 weeks. Towards the end of that period, we will fully roll it out to the parish.  There will be training, workstations and staff to help get this rolling.

You’ve heard of “Garbage In- Garbage out” when it comes to databases.  We believe we have a solid set of data but want to make sure over the years we haven’t missed any updates from you, hence this mini census.  Our goal is to have the best experience for you when we roll out. We thank you for helping us make that happen.

You should receive a letter in the mail the first week in October. Please review the information in the letter and make the necessary changes on the letter and return it in the postage-paid envelope, drop it in the collection basket or drop it by the office.  If you prefer to make the changes online, please click HERE  to submit corrections and provide feedback for us. It is essential that we hear back from everyone.  We thank you ahead of time for helping us ensure that our current data is accurate.

We commit to keeping you informed with all relevant data between now and the launch. Our Staff will be trained first, followed by ministry leads and then the larger parish.
